Catherine Boston, returned to our Heavenly Father on Monday morning, August 21, 2023, at the age of 76.
Catherine was born to William and Mary McGhee Boston in Crossett, Arkansas, on Thursday, October 3, 1946, the baby of 9 children.
At an early age, she joined and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Crossett, Arkansas. She later became a member of Douglas Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained faithful and served as a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Circle Deborah until her health prevented.
Catherine attended T.W. Daniel High School in Crossett, Arkansas, and graduated from Madera Union High School in Madera, California. She received her undergraduate degree from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, and her master’s degree from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Catherine had the honorable distinction of completing her thesis work in Africa.
Catherine was the former County Administrator at Ouachita and Ashley County Department of Human Services. She began her career as a Social Services Caseworker at Pulaski County DHS. She was a true joy to work with. She was brilliant, kind, caring, and always had a joyful heart and contagious laughter.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings.
Catherine is survived by her three children: daughter Patrina Wines; sons Kevin Wines (Rochunda) Noel Hylton (Erma); eight grandchildren, John, Asia and India Clark, Cierra Morton, Jakayla Johnson, Ricky Dixon, Alexandria Pacheco (Eduardo) and Jabez Hylton; 10 great-grandchildren, her devoted and dear friend Sue Jenkins; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
