Bishop Dr. George Calloway Jr. was the only child born to George Calloway Sr. and Orleanor Calloway on February 24, 1950, in Topeka, Kansas. Bishop Dr. George Calloway Jr. departed his earthly home on August 9, 2023.
 
Education
 
Bishop Dr. George Calloway Jr. was an Honor Graduate of Washington High School class of 1968 
He furthered his education after high school and was a student at AM&N College Pine Bluff, AR, from 1968-1969; he later attended South Arkansas Community College in 1994.
 
Seminary and degrees
 
Bishop Dr. George Calloway Jr. received a Bachelor of Theology at United Theological Seminary & Bible College in 2000, a Master of Christian Education & Theology in 2001, a Doctorate in Theology in 2004, and was Ordained and Consecrated as a Bishop in 2006.
 
 
Military
 
Bishop Calloway Jr. enlisted in the United States Navy as a Communication Technician in the fleet submarine Fleet & Race Relation Facilitator in 1970-1978; he did a tour overseas in Japan, Vietnam War South Pacific in 1971-1974.
 
Work History
 
Bishop Dr. George Calloway Jr Returned to El Dorado in 1978. He became an employee of Arkansas Power & Light Company, ENTERGY CORPORATION, as a substation Relay Technician. He was later promoted to supervisor of Field Metering for Southern AR from 1995-2009. He also worked as a Bus Driver for the El Dorado School District from 2019-2023.

Bishop Dr. George Calloway Jr was the pastor of   Mt. Zion Lisbon for 8 Years and the Pastor of St. James Baptist Church for 34 years and was the Founder of St. James VOF Outreach Ministries, Chaplain for Market Place Ministries 2004-2010, Prince Hall Masonic Lodge 151 and Lodge, Gusher ELKS Lodge #560, Chaplain, Arkansas State Association of ELKS Chaplain, Member of the Chaplain Department of the I.B.P.O.E. of the World, El Dorado Civitans, AEA/NEA, El Dorado Works Board, El Dorado City Council Ward 3, Position 2, Office of Friendship District Organization, and Union County Baptist Minister Alliance.
 
 
 
 
 
Family
 
Bishop Dr. George Calloway Jr is preceded in death by his parents, George Calloway Sr. and Orleanor Calloway.
Bishop Dr. George Calloway Jr left his precious memories to his  Wife, Alice Faye Calloway of 50 years, children Tabatha Calloway of Killeen, TX, Shanna Calloway, El Dorado, AR, Tabetha Modica, Little Rock, AR, Demetrius Calloway (Freda) Monticello, AR, two Goddaughters Allison George, and Kailee Johnson both of El Dorado, AR, adoptive children Kenneth Lowery (Debrah), and June Springer both of El Dorado, AR, special kids and friends of the family: Joseph Ramey, Shamekia Morgan, Bobby White, Chris White, Dorothy Furlough (Bo), and Clark & Denise Smith of El Dorado, AR
nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren,  Special Godchildren Brenda Gatewood (Woody), Brandy McGhee, and Melody Hall. #1 Road Dog Jaxon Henderson, and a host of god-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
