Berry Thomas Malone was born on March 6, 1954, in Wesson, Arkansas, to the late Corine (Davis) Malone and Thomas "T.J." Malone. Berry was one of four siblings and grew up between Wesson and El Dorado, places that shaped his joyful spirit and deep love for family. He was a proud member of Beulah Grove Baptist Church in Wesson, Arkansas.
Berry attended Bozeman Park School, affiliated with the South Arkansas Development Center.
Although Berry lived with cerebral palsy, he never allowed it to define him. His life was filled with brightness, laughter, and the purest kind of love. Berry had a smile that could light up any room and a gentle presence that brought comfort to everyone around him. He cherished the simple, meaningful things-time spent with family, a warm conversation, or someone sitting beside him just enjoying the moment.
Berry had a lifelong love for music that began in childhood and stayed with him throughout his life. He built an impressive collection over the years-records, 8-tracks, cassette tapes, CDs, DVDs, boom boxes, and anything else that played the sounds he loved. Music brought him joy, connection, and peace. He also enjoyed movies, collecting DVDs, and keeping up with the things that made him happiest. Berry loved his snacks as well-Pringle chips, Chips Ahoy cookies, Big Red gum, and Brisk teas were always at the top of his list. He also enjoyed collecting baseball caps, proudly adding each one to his growing collection.
One of Berry's greatest joys was visiting family in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He loved those trips so much that sometimes he didn't want to come back home afterward.
Berry was deeply loved, and he loved deeply in return. His gentle soul, his laughter, and his warm spirit leave a lasting mark on everyone blessed to know him.
Berry was preceded in death by his father, Thomas (T.J.) Malone Jr. and his mother, Corine Davis-Malone.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Anita Malone-Dixon (George) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Sandra Kay Malone of El Dorado, Arkansas; and CaSandra Aneita Malone-Pope of El Dorado, Arkansas; his brothers, Melvin Louis Malone (Ruth) of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Dameyon Edrick Malone (Shelia) of El Dorado, Arkansas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Berry's life was a testament to love, resilience, and joy. Though he is no longer with us, his smile, his spirit, and the music he adored will continue to live on through those who loved him.
