Arthur J. Billings, Sr., 76, of Benton, Louisiana, was born on September 16, 1949, in Harrell, Arkansas, to the late Jack and Florence Billings. Arthur accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. George's Episcopal Church. Later, he united with Greater New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, Louisiana, where he was re-baptized as an adult.

Arthur moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1962. At the age of 16, he attended Job Corps in California, where he earned a certification in electronics. He worked as a driver for Greyhound Lines for 30 years. His hobbies included repairing and building CB radio equipment, fishing-especially with his father and brother-and serving as a licensed amateur (HAM) radio operator. He was also passionate about music, photography, and traveling with his beloved wife.

Arthur J. Billings, Sr. was united in holy matrimony to Susan Michelle Leary on September 16, 1994. No children were born to this union.

Arthur departed this life on July 31, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Florence Billings; his daughters, Kelly Billings and Tina Billings; his sisters, Marilyn Billings, Vera Featherson, Juanita Robinson, Ola Billings, Gladys Billings, and Jessie L. Billings; his brothers, Otis Ray Billings, Lester Billings, Johnny Ray Billings, and L. B. Billings; his brother, John L. Billings (whereabouts and status unknown); and his brother-in-law, James Leary, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his devoted wife, Susan Leary Billings of Benton, Louisiana; his daughters, Teia Baxter of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Shaska Cofield of Cincinnati, Ohio; sons, Randy Baxter of Las Vegas, Nevada, Demetrius Baxter of Benton, Louisiana, Alexander Baxter of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, his sisters-in-law, Theresa Leary-Williams (Steve) of Bunkie, Louisiana, Tammy Leary of Tacoma, Washington, Sharon Leary of Bunkie, Louisiana, Verdie Leary-Harris (Alvin, Sr.) of Avondale, Louisiana, Nako Campbell-Taylor (Howard) of Westwego, Louisiana, Cynthia Leary-Gaines (Charles) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Cathryn Leary-Reed (Rondrick) of Bossier City, Louisiana; his brothers-in-law, Eugene Leary and Patrick Leary, both of Bunkie, Louisiana; his mother-in-law, Veronica Leary; 16 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Arthur will be remembered for his love of family, his faithful service, his passion for music and photography, and the joy he found in fishing, traveling, and helping others. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
