Annie Dell Snowden-Moore

August 27, 1932 — July 3, 2021

Annie Dell Snowden-Moore was the youngest child of Jesse Snowden and Mahalia Briggs-Snowden.  She was born August 27, 1932, in Oak Ridge, LA, and departed her earthly sojourn on July 3, 2021, at her residence.

She attended school in the Mt. Willie community and later completed her high school diploma by attending night school in El Dorado, AR.  She later attended a nursing school where she honed her natural skills as a caregiver.

Mrs. Moore was employed at various nursing homes and later at the local hospital for several years. And later in life, she opened her own daycare center and served many families in the community.  And she was one of the best cooks around.

As a child, she professed her hope in Christ at the Mt. Willie Baptist Church and later followed her husband to the Salem Baptist Church.  Her fondest memories are at the New Bethel Baptist, where she served in various capacities and was a faithful and supportive member until her passing.

On September 17, 1950, she was married to Nilon Moore, Sr. for thirty-five years until his passing on December 31, 1985.  And to this union, five children were born, Marilyn J. Moore-Hughey, Beverly J. Moore-Scott, Nilon N. Moore, Jr, Tyrous L. Moore, and Pierce L. Moore.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Mahalia Snowden, her husband, Nilon Moore, Sr., her daughter, Marilyn J. Moore-Hughey, her siblings, Jack, Jesse Paul (JP), John Arthur, and Ruthell Snowden.

Her children will cherish her loving memories, Beverly J. Moore-Scott (Tyree) of St. Louis, MO, Nilon N. Moore, Jr., Tyrous L. Moore, and Pierce L. Moore (Sharon), all of El Dorado, AR, eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and a host of friends who will miss her kind heart and tender smiles.
