Alvin Lewis White

Alvin Lewis White was born on October 25, 1954, to the late Augusta and Costella Benton White in Strong, Arkansas. He was the fifth of nine children.

Alvin accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age while attending Pleasant Grove Church of God in Strong, Arkansas. He loved his church dearly and actively expressed his devotion through his talents, financial contributions, and service. Alvin faithfully participated in church services and helped maintain the church building, grounds, and cemetery. He also loved fishing and traveling.

Alvin graduated from Strong High School in Strong, Arkansas, in 1972. During his school years, he enjoyed running track and playing football. After graduation, Alvin enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for ten years both stateside and in Germany. Upon completing his military service, Alvin relocated to Houston, Texas, where he was employed by Armco Steel Company for twenty years. He later returned home and accepted a position as Maintenance and Property Manager for Whitfield Estates in El Dorado, Arkansas.

On June 3, 2026, Alvin's earthly journey ended in the comfort of his home, surrounded by loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Augusta and Costella White; two brothers, Andrew Lee White and Jasper Joe White; one sister, Pauline White-Whitfield; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Alvin leaves to celebrate and cherish his memory one brother, James E. White, Sr. (Trena); four sisters, Pearl Welch, Rose White Bailey (Walter), Dorothy Steward, and Gloria Robinson (Bill); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Alvin's life was a testament to faith, service, hard work, and love for family. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
