Alston Joshawn Andrews

September 16, 1998 — October 3, 2021

Alston JoShawn Andrews was born September 16, 1998, in El Dorado, AR, to Joseph Q. Andrews and Shawn Pitts Andrews. During his early years, his family lived in Three Creeks, and Alston attended school in Junction City. Later his family moved to Urbana, and Alston transferred to the El Dorado School District. Alston was very active and involved in many organizations and extracurricular activities through the years.

Alston accepted the Lord and united with Mt. Zion #2 Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He was a faithful member of the youth department, choir, usher ministries, and anything else his Grandmother Frankie thought he could lend a helping hand too. Alston was also a lifelong member of the Frankie Andrews Concert Choir and the Next Generation Youth Choir.

While attending El Dorado High School, Alston was a Wildcat Football team and track team member. He was also an active member of the Jr. ELK Herd #473. Alston's parents and family faithfully supported him by attending all of his events and activities. His sister Aliyah was his loudest cheerleader. Alston was a member of the 2017 graduating class of El Dorado High School and a recipient of the El Dorado Promise scholarship, which he used at South Arkansas Community College to earn his Associate's Degree of Applied Arts in 2019. Alston was currently attending college at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, where he was working towards his Bachelor's Degree in Business. After graduating from High School, Alston joined the Arkansas National Guards, where he was ranked as Corporal in DET 1 CO A 39th BSB Unit. Alston was scheduled to begin his training to become a Sergeant this month.

Alston loved the outdoors, being on the water, and riding his four-wheeler. Alston was a true nature lover and a lifelong hunter. From his early years, Alston skillfully handled a rifle, bow, and rod & reel with a high level of accuracy. Alston enjoyed spending time with his father, grandfathers, and uncles catching the biggest fish, killing the biggest bucks, or just telling the stories about the one that got away.

On Sunday, October 3, 2021, the Lord called Alston home for eternal rest. Alston was preceded in death by his loving Grandmother's Frankie Ann Andrews, Frankie Elois Andrews, and his uncle Ricky Payne. Alston's memories will be cherished by many. He is survived by his father Joseph Q. Andrews, his mother Shawn Andrews, his sister Aliyah Andrews, his paternal grandfather Joseph Andrews, his maternal grandparents, Jesse Pitts, Sr. and Doylene Pitts, his Aunts, Stacey Aaron Floyd, Toya Aaron, Erica Williams, Tequila Martin, KeKe Davis, Tiffany Willis, his Uncles, Eric Lacey, Jesse Pitts, Jr, (LaFela), LaChristopher Lacey (Marsha), Neal Nugent, DWayne Hill(Shannon) and Reginal Thomas, (Kimberly), and his girlfriend, Ahjaley Miller. Alston also leaves a host of great uncles, great aunts, cousins, extended family, and friends that will miss him dearly.

Every day of Alston's life, he was surrounded by love, the love of his family, and the love of his community. Alston's personality reflected the same love he had in his heart, and he shared that love with everyone he knew. Alston will be greatly missed.
