Alfonzo James Sr.

November 4, 1958 — September 16, 2024

Alfonzo James Sr.

Mr. Alfonzo James, Sr. was born November 4, 1958, to the late Arguster James Sr. and Burnell Brown. He was a proud resident of the great place of El Dorado, Arkansas, graduating from El Dorado High School Class of 1977. Mr. James loved to entertain his family and friends. Boy, oh boy, he liked to barbeque with the blues. He thought his barbeque was the best in the south. He loved to travel and would drive his dear wife anywhere she wanted to go. All she had to do was get in the vehicle. Mr. James loved his wife dearly. She was the best thing since sliced bread and butter. His children were dear to his soul, but his grandchildren were golden. His dedication to Clean Harbors for 40 years, until his health failed, was a testament to his commitment and work ethic.

He is greeted in heaven with a smile on his face by his late son Carnie DeShun Morris. His brothers Alonzo James, Travis Gordon, Richard Earl James, Lester Brown, and D.L Gordon, and sister Robinelle  Gordon were waiting his arrival and welcomed him at the Pearly Gates.

Mr. James leaves behind his Most Precious Jewel, Jannie Lee James, "Sweetie," of 36 years married, 40 years together; his handsome sons Derrick A. Dixon, Alfonzo J. James (Velicia), and Torrey Lougin (Crystal); his beautiful daughters Tiffany James and Deneshia Norman (Denito)James; his Godsons Cheundrae Hart, Michael Jackson, and Joseph Hill; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. James will also be remembered by his brothers Jessie Morton, Jerry Wayne Durton, Jeffery James, and Arguster James Jr.; his sisters Wanda James, Sandra Holden (Keith), and Glenda James; and a host of nieces and nephews; relatives and friends. Mr. Alfonzo James, Sr. will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him most.
