Alex "AJ" Montez Hicks

Alex Montez Hicks JR. “AJ” born Feb 11, 2002, in El Dorado, AR, to Alex and Laquitica Hicks. He transitioned from this earthly life Saturday, March 21, 2020.

“AJ” accepted Christ on Feb 7, 2016, at Beulah Grove Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. Luther Harris. “AJ” was an active choir member and loved being a part of the youth department.  “AJ” attended El Dorado High School GO LIVE 5!!!!!! Class of 2020

“AJ” was El Dorado News times all-area athlete, 6A West all-conference, he made all-state several years in a row, he was News times player of the year finalist, 6A all-state football. He had Accomplishments in track, besides sports, he was the life of the party.

“AJ” was preceded in death by his Great grandfather Cortez Smith (Hazel), Great grandfather Joseph Kimble, Albertine and Roy Hicks, Lizzie, and RJ Thompson.

“AJ” was survived by his parents Alex Hicks SR. and LaQuitica Hicks both of El Dorado, AR. Twin Brothers Samdaja Kimble, and Damadja Kimble,  Grandparents Bobby (Virginia) Sapp, Grandparents Randy (Joyce) Hicks of El Dorado, AR, Sandra Hicks of El Dorado, AR, Charles (Gloria) Thompson of McGhee AR, Bettie Kimble of Sherwood AR.  Great grandmother Amy Kimble, Three uncles Bobby Kimble of Little Rock, AR, Michael Kimble (Sheena) of El Dorado, AR, Bobby Sapp JR. (Keisha) of West Monroe, La., Aunt Yolanda Hart (Johnathan) of Jacksonville, AR,special friend and mentor Matt Pryor, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public Visitation Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Sims Mortuary from 2:00-5:00 p.m., Funeral service will be Friday, March 27, 2020, at  Beulah Grove Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be at Fellowship Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary. Sign the guestbook at www.simsmortuary.com
