Ada Mae Davis was born on October 15, 1932, in Summerfield, Louisiana, to Henry and Henrietta Meadows-Davis. At an early age, she confessed her hope in Christ Jesus, a faith that remained the foundation of her life.
On July 27, 1952, she was united in marriage to Otis Vance McNeil. Ada loved caring for her family and enjoyed crafts, garage sales, and cooking. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of her favorite dishes: collard greens, fried chicken, and fried hot water bread.
On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 9:43 p.m., Ada peacefully transitioned at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas
She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Rose Mary McNeil of Little Rock, AR; Mae Frances Johnson of El Dorado; Mary Jean (Donnie Sr.) Savage of El Dorado; and Marilyn (Berry) Moore of El Dorado, AR; and by her son, James Ray McElroy of Pine Bluff, AR.
From her five beloved children came a beautiful legacy of 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She will forever be remembered for her warm smile, her open heart, and the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her. Though she has departed this earthly life, her light continues to shine through the generations she so lovingly nurtured.
