She was the second child of three born to this union.A godly life ended Friday, September 15, 2006 at 10:12 a.m. When our loved one Carolyn was taken from us, we knew she was at rest with our heavenly Father. After so much suffering by our loved one the Lord took from her all pain and took her to himself, where there is no pain and no burdens of fear. She was a loving and faithful mother, a caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was admired and loved by many. Carolyn professed her faith in Christ at an early age at New Hope Baptist Church in Mt. Holly, Arkansas. She later united with the First Baptist Church in El Dorado and the New Hope Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado, Dr. James D. Peters, Sr., Pastor. She relocated back to El Dorado in October 2001 and united with the Greater Paradise Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. E. A. Porchia where she remained faithful until death. She also shared her faith when she sang with the Stars of Hope of El Dorado, the Majestic Choir and the Orchestra Choirs of New Hope Baptist Church in Denver, and the Music Ministry of Greater Paradise M.B.C. She loved bringing up her memories of Girl Scouting in Denver. She attended public school in Mt. Holly and Arkansas Baptist College. Life for her does not end, it is continued because her life touch so many individuals, she will be remembered. Preceding her in death was her parents, Dock and Girtha Shears, a brother, Phillip Banks Shears, a nephew, Eric Vincent Cain, two nieces, Linda Kay Harris Brazle and Mona Deloris Cain.
