"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want..." Psalms 23 Effie Lee Tucker was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on February 20, 1925 in the community of Three Creeks. She was daughter of the late Craig Sims and Ezzie Allen Edwards. She was a member of St. Vestal C.M.E. Chruch for over 50 years whre she served on the Usher board, Stewardess Board and the Mission Department. She was also a Sister of the Elks. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Jay Lee Tucker, Sr. To this union three children were born. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in the John Williams Hospice House, El Dorado, Arkansas. She was the last of six sibblings. Effie leaves to cherish her loving memories; one daughter "Bonnie" Tucker Griffin of El Dorado, Arkansas; two sons, Albert "Fuzzy Tucker(Bobby) and Jay Lee Tucker, Jr.(Melba) of White Hall, Arkansas; Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, neices other relatives and friends. A Homegoing Celebration for Sister Tucker will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Vestal A.M.E. Church, El Dorado, Arkansas with Pastor Monteal Rhynes officiating. Intement will follow in the Lott Burgy Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation for Sister Tucker will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 9am to 5pm and Wednesday, March 10 from 8:30am to 12 noon. A wake will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home Tuesday.
