Sister Leslie Marie Clay was born August 18, 1947 to Idonia Marie Jones and the Rev. Willie D. Grant in Benton, Arkansas. Sister Leslie Marie Clay departed this life at her home on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 6:45 p.m. in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Sister Leslie Marie Clay graduated from Grant High School in Portland, Oregon. She accepted Christ as her Savior and united with Union Mission Baptist Church. She was employed by Carelink of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Throughout her life, she sowed love and kindness with a big heart. Sister Leslie Marie Clay united in marriage to the Rev. Roy Edward Clay and to this union, they were blessed with three children. Sister Leslie Marie Clay was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Willie D. Grant and mother, Idonia Marie Daniels, one son, Roy Edward Clay II, one daughter Tracy Yvonne Clay, one sister, Jannie Mae Bluford, two brothers, Albert Grant and James "Peanut" Daniels. Her loving memories will be cherished by, her daughter Joyce Lorraine Clay of Little Rock, Arkansas; three sisters, Mae Ester Foster and Celestine Wade both of El Dorado, Arkansas and Gertha Browning of Camden, Arkansas; four brothers, bobby(Marie)Daniels and Frederick L. Daniels both of El Dorado, Arkansas, Willie Joe Grant and Joe Willie Grant both of Portland, Oregon; three grandchildren, Marcus D. Miller of Grand Prairie, Texas, Roy Edward Clay III and Jamarious Clay both of El Dorado, Arkansas, six great-grandchildren, a loving aunt, Ada Mae Williams-Hunter of El Dorado, Arkansas; a special god-brother, L.J. Levingston of El Dorado, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Homegoing Services for Leslie Marie Clay will be held Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Mission Baptist Church, El Dorado with the Rev. Jerry Fifer officiating. Interment will follow in the Lott Burgy Cemetery, El Dorado, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation for Mrs. Clay will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009 from 9am-5pm and Saturday, January 2, 2010 from 8:30am-9:30p.m. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Leslie Marie Clay, please visit our flower store.
