Dwegess "Dwight" Barnes

April 19, 1960 — January 20, 2018

The Life & Times of Dwight Barnes For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteousness judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:6-8 Dwight was born into time on April 19, 1960 to the union of Frankie Lee Barnes and Lurie Mae Barnes in El Dorado, Arkansas. Growing up in a large family, he learned the value of family and unity. Dwight learned at a young age about hard work which led to a successful satellite business. He was a very dedicated, reliable, honest individual. He never met a stranger. He was a devoted son, father, brother, friend that everyone enjoyed his company. He owned Ds Satellite in Little Rock. Even though he worked hard running the business, he was very involved in his children and grandchildren daily activities. He was an avid motorcycle rider and a devoted member of the Arkansas Cruisers. On Saturday, January 20, 2018, he passed into the Lord’s embrace with his family at his bedside. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lurie Mae Barnes, grandparents and “son” Elgin “Frog” Brice. Dwight’s loving and precious memories will be cherished by father Frankie Lee Barnes of El Dorado, AR; three daughters: Patrice Johnson (Michael) of North Little Rock, Brittney Barnes of El Dorado, AR, Jessica Barnes of North Little Rock; 3 sons, Pierre Lovette of El Dorado, AR, twins Jacob and Gabriel Barnes of Little Rock, AR; six sisters, Diane Harris (Maurice) of El Dorado, AR, LaQuetta Barnes of El Dorado, AR, Jennifer Boddie (Darryl) of Bloomington, IL, Janice Carter (Greg) of Magnolia, Crystal Hall (Eddie) of Bossier City, LA, Frank Barnes (Tenesha) of Little Rock AR; 9 grandchildren. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends who will miss him dearly. Public visitation will be Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 12 noon until 4:30 pm at Sims Mortuary.
