Tom "Buster" Edward Lovett

Tom E. Lovett died peacefully at the John W. Hospice House on November 19, 2017, after a strong fight with liver failure. Tom E. Lovett, known by many as Buster, devoted his life to his family and his job at Centerpoint Energy. He was a strong believer in God and had taken that belief with him throughout his life’s journey. Tom E. (Buster) Lovett was born to the late Dorothy Jean Malcom and Lee L. (Tom) Lovett in El Dorado, AR on September 20, 1959. Buster dedicated his life to the Lord at an early age, and later joined Douglas Chapel Missionary Baptist Church family. He started his life as a young man in the Army National Guard. He worked faithfully for Centerpoint Energy for 35 years, and he could always be seen riding around town in his Centerpoint white truck waving and smiling as he drove to his destination. As his health began to fail, he was forced into retirement from his beloved job as gas leak survey, but he still got up daily and dress in his work uniform. Tom joined in holy matrimony to Joyce King on July 4, 2000, she was his firecracker and he was her TomCat . Tom loved going camping with his lovely wife, and even requested for his whole family to join them out in the wildness of many mesquites on their anniversary. Joyce Lovett loved, cared, and took care of him until the Lord called him home to be with him. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his first wife Vickey D. Lark, and their infant son, Tom E. Lovett Jr, his brothers, Oliver Joe Scott and Jonathan Lovett and a sister Sue Lovett. Tom leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Joyce Lovett, his beloved sons; Thomas Lovett, Mario Lovett of Eldorado Arkansas, Greg Lovett (Shreveport La.), James (Chryshanna) Lovett, Daniel Kid (Eldorado, Arkansas), his beloved daughters; Deatred “Shunda” Glover, LaSheka Holliday, and Sharnice Bradley all of Eldorado, Arkansas, his beloved brothers; Clifton (Inez)Lovett, Jake (Christina) Boone III. of Eldorado, Arkansas, Demetris Lovett of Lorain, Ohio, his beloved sisters; Doris Caraydon (Flint Michigan), Dolly Lovett, Cherlyn Lovett both of Lorine Ohio, Irisha (Nathaniel) Aaron, Francine Williams, Jaqueline Holmes all of Eldorado Arkansas. He leaves his 17 grandchildren to carry on the memories that he had taught them as “Papa Buster”. Buster had a big heart and considered many as his own especially, Nathaniel Johnson, Cedric Cook, Darren Reed, Varron’v Adams, Quetta Edwards, and God Kids Michelle and Robert Fields. Visitation will be from 1-5pm on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Sims Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 11:00am on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Douglas Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor D.L. Hegler, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary.
