Corey Dewayne Goodwin

Corey Dewayne Goodwin was born January 9, 1987 to Byron and Brenda Goodwin in Union County at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. At a young age, Corey united with Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church. Corey attended and was a graduate of Smackover High School. After graduation, Corey joined and served in the United States Army. During that time he traveled and served on a town in Afghanistan. When he returned he joined the workforce. Corey had many talents and was a skilled laborer. Along with being a hard worker, he was a family man and a loving father. Corey was a lifelong resident of Smackover and he certainly will be missed. He was preceded in death by Paternal grandparents Freeman & Rosemary Goodwin and Maternal Grandparents, Adell and Pearling Bailey all of Smackover, AR. Corey leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Byron and Brenda Goodwin; his children, Zion Goodwin, Ayana Goodwin, and Corey Goodwin, Jr.; brothers, Brian Sims; Julius Davidson, a special uncle, Adell Bailey, and a host of other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be Friday November 3, 2017 12 noon-5pm at Sims Mortuary. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:30am at the Smackover Auditorium with Pastor Felton Burgie, eulogist. Interment will be at Hicks Cemetery in Smackover under the direction of Sims Mortuary.
