Gracie L. Rigsby

Gracie L. Henry Rigsby, daughter of the late Ellis Henry and Gracie Ford Henry, was born in Lillie, LA on March 26, 1933. She departed from this life on Tuesday September 12, 2017 at Hospice in Little Rock, AR. She was educated in Bernice, LA where she played basketball and earned her diploma. She then moved to El Dorado, AR and then married Lapolnem Rigsby. She was employed at Union Medical Center for over 30 years which is where she retired. Gracie was a loving wife and mother; an excellent cook, who loved having company, as well as, feeding friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents Ellies and Gracie and all her Siblings, Betty, Eunice (Tootie), John Carol (J.C), Elza Mae, Eddie C (Doc), Jethro (Cecil) Wilson (Buddy). One of her devoted daughter Suzette Henry Aaron & her son Eric Gray. She leaves in mourning her husband Lapoluem Rigsby and six surviving daughters, Brenda Henry Casey of Little Rock, AR, Loletha Daniels of Little Rock, Annette Henry Austin (David) of El Dorado, AR, Darlean Ribsby of Little Rock, AR, Tira Rigsby Randolph (Jesse) of Little Rock, AR, and Natasha Gray Stephens (Donald) of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren Justin R. Casey (Latoyia), Denisha Daniels Shepard, Dr. Jason R Casey, Murphy Aaron Jr, (Tamara), Jade A. Daniels, Brittany M Wade, Ariel Austin Rainey (Rico), Christopher Austin, Chase M. Wade, Tayler C. Stephens and Kennedi C. Stephens; great-grandchildren, Joshua Z. Casey, Jaida K. Patrick, Bobby D. Shepard, Makayla Suzette Aaron, Makiyah Denise Aaron and Arianna Rainey; close family members; Patsy Rhodes, Teresa Rhodes, Effie Boone, Norwood Henry (Betty) and caregiver of three years Quanita Casey, as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss her warm smile and good cooking. Public visitation will be from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. at Sims Mortuary on Friday, September 22, 2017. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Greater Paradise Baptist Church with Rev. Horace Charles, officiating and her grandson Pastor Justin R. Casey of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Memphis, TN, eulogist. Interment at Arlington Memorial Gardens under the direction of Sims Mortuary. Active Pallbearers will be Franklin Andrews, Terry Buggs, Tony Rhodes, Bernard Henry, Billy Dawson and Mack Bolton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rev. Justin R. Casey, Rev. David Austin, Dr. Jason R. Casey, Donald Stephens, Murphy Aaron, Jr., Rico Rainey, Christopher Austin, Chase Wade, Joshua Z. Casey and Bobby Sheppard III.
