Shirley A. Jones

Shirley Jones was born September 3, 1947 in Greenville, MS to Archer Williams and Thelma Williams. She worked as a CNA for over 30 years and was a member of The Word Lives COGIC where she was the church mother for 18 years. She passed on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Medical Center of South Arkansas. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Elvans Jones. She is survived by her son, Jerome (Aretha) Williams of Greenville, MS; two daughters, Shelia (Robert) Junious of Richton Park, IL and Shardonnay Jones of Hampton, AR; brothers, Benjamin Collins of Greenville, MS, Ernest Williams of Seattle, WA, Lloyd (Vickey) Homewood, IL, Johnny Williams of Greenville, MS, Isaac Williams of Chicago, IL; sisters, Betty Collins of Greenville, MS, Daisy Williams of Riverdale, IL, Linda Williams of Midtholian, IL and Gloria Williams of Iowa. Public visitation will be Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 10am-4pm at Sims Mortuary. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 6-7pm at The Word Lives COGIC in Fordyce, Arkansas. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 1:00pm at The Word Lives COGIC in Fordyce with Elder Timola Spears, eulogist.
