Rodell was born January 1st, 1933 and passed away July 4, 2017. Her parents were Nettie and Henry Buckner. She was the last living of all her many brothers and sisters and has now gone to join them in heaven. She spoke often of her strong faith in her Heavenly Father and was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in El Dorado. Thanks to Pastor Barry Dobson for his kind help with Rodell’s funeral arrangements. She is survived by many nieces who showed her much care and attention during her lengthy illness. They are Theresa Malone, Glenda Rucks, Sharon Fant, Anna Fay Davidson, Henrietta Jones, and Camelia Melonson. Rodell was full of life and she had many friends in El Dorado such as Angela Elliot, who always made her hair look beautiful and was a truly kind and loyal friend. She is beloved by the Sheppard family for whom she worked over half a century, cooking great food and keeping the children in line. She made the best vegetable soup and hot water cornbread in the world and many other incredible dishes. She will be greatly missed and always be fondly remembered, Rest in Peace, old friend.
