Vaughn Lee Richmond

Mr. Vaughn “Lee “ Richmond was born June 27, 1962 in El Dorado, AR to Joe L. Richmond and the late Nodie Mae Phillips. He professed his life at an early age to Christ at St. John Missionary Baptist Church and later joined St. James Baptist Church. He was a sports fanatic. He liked all sports, Basketball and Baseball being his favorites. He was a star athlete at El Dorado High School where he played basketball. Shortly after high school he joined the military where he served 3 years and was honorably discharged in 1985. He then met the love of his life Carolyn Pierce and was later united in holy matrimony. He passed on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Medical Center South Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his mother Nodie Mae Phillips; one sister, Odie Faye Phillips and two brothers, James Phillips and Lonnie T. Phillips. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife; Carolyn Pierce Richmond; two daughters, Chaunce Pierce and Le Tashia Richmond; his father, Joe L. Richmond; two sisters, Alice Faye Richmond Calloway of El Dorado, AR and Addie T. Bell of Chicago, IL; seven brothers, Howard Buggs (Pete), Dewie Ray Buggs, Charles Buggs, Joe Luther Richmond, Willie T. Richmond all of El Dorado, AR, Joe Laverne Richmond of Little Rock, AR and Jasper Earl Richmond of Monticello. He also leaves to cherish a special little lady whom he thought was the world and more of “Leigh Asia Williams” (Lei Lei) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Public visitation will be Monday, June 19, 2017 from 2-4:30 p.m. at Sims Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at St. James Baptist Church in El Dorado with Pastor George Calloway, eulogist. Interment will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Summerfield, Louisiana under the direction of Sims Mortuary.
