James Lockhart

James L. Lockhart was born in Eldorado, Arkansas on January 10, 1939, to the late William & Lacenie Lockhart. He departed this life on May 17, 2017 in Little Rock, Arkansas. At an early age he united with Morning Star Baptist Church in Eldorado, AR, where he remained a faithful member until his death. James attended Carver Elementary School and graduated from Washington High School in 1957. He worked at Benchmark Industries for 25 years. James received many certificates for dedication, attendance, participation, and hard work at the Hope House. James was an active member in Sunday school, attended deacon workshops, and Wednesday night Bible Study. He had excellent attendance to any programs or activities sponsored at Morning Star Baptist Church. He loved Morning Star Baptist Church and his pastor. He was a lover of sport and enjoyed community football. James enjoyed professional football; his favorite team was the Atlanta Falcon. His favorite professional basketball team was the Golden State Warriors. James will be missed by his sisters who loved him dearly: Pearlean (George) Traylor of Oakland, CA, Earlean Hay of Ft. Washington, MD, and Angela Munns of Little Rock, AR; three nieces, Malikah Munns, Alanna Hay, and Jaala Smith; five nephews, Clifford Traylor, Reginald Hay, Darrell Hay, Rhoyge Traylor, and Kenyatta Hay. James leaves four grand nephews, three grand nieces, one great nephew, and one great niece and a host of cousins, friends, who will miss him dearly. Public visitation will be Friday, May 26, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Sims Mortuary. Services will be Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11:00 p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church with Rev.
