Franklin Delano “Earth Man” Massey was born on Friday May 13, 1944 to the parents of Jimmy D. Massey and Mozella Massey in El Dorado, Arkansas. Franklin was a member of the New Providence Missionary Baptist Church. He was a 1962 graduate Washington High School and a 1965 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He taught school at Washington High School and Gardner High School in Strong, Arkansas. He was an employee of Gulf Oil Company, Clean Harbor for 27 years as a chemist, owner of Massey’s Recreation Country Club in Norphet, Arkansas, the Triple “M” Hog Farm and the Triple “M” Lawn Service. Survivors are his children; LaShunda Massey, Franklin S. Massey (Stephanie) and Jimmy D. Massey; sisters, Jimmie-Faye Goodwin, Vashti Richardson (Don), Juliet Waller, Ozella Wingate, Doris Byars; brothers, Granville Massey, Milton Massey, Jerry Massey (Yolanda), Paul Massey, John Massey (Tometrius) Joseph Massey (Debra), Dave Micheal Massey Sr., Ralph Massey (Diane), Mark W.Massey Sr.; grandchildren, Charles Owens V, Charisma Owens, Trinity Massey, Lana Massey, Gloria Massey, and Griffin Massey. Public visitation will be Friday, April 21, 2017 from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Municipal Auditorium with Apostle John Massey, eulogist.
