Leon Davis was born on February 23, 1925, to the late Charlie and Orana (Godfrey) Davis. He departed his life on January 9, 2017 at this residence in Wesson, Arkansas. Leon united in Holy matrimony to Maxine (Wilkins) Davis on January 17, 1952. To this union one child was born (Cathey Davis). Leon served as a construction foreman, auto body and paint repairman and railroad maintenance technician, retiring from the workforce at 80 years of age. For those who knew Leon, they knew of his great heart, loving smiles and joyful laughter putting smiles on many faces. Once retired, Leon enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening and spending time around his shop conversing with others. Leon was a member of Mt. Pigeon Church for over 50 years, where he served as a Deacon. He later became a member of the Beulah Grove Baptist Church of Wesson, Arkansas. Leon was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Maxine (Wilkins) Davis; his parents Charlie and Orana Davis; 5 brothers, Bennie, Robert, Charlie, Rev. Curtis and Floyd Dell Davis, and grandson Jonathan Earl Nelson Leon leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Cathey Ann Davis of Wesson, Arkansas, Danny Davis of El Dorado, Arkansas; two grandchildren; Makeba Dionne Nelson of El Dorado, Arkansas; Jarrod Leon Nelson of Fayetteville, Arkansas; three great grandchildren; Jordan Maxine Nelson of El Dorado, Arkansas; Justice Tahliya Nelson of Smackover, Arkansas; and Jonathan “Maddox” Nelson of Fayetteville, Arkansas; six sisters, Maxine Davis of Matteson, Illinois, Corene (Malone) Davis, Sadie Ollison of El Dorado, Arkansas; Lorene (Hayes) and Louise Davis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Bettye Griffith of Argo, Illionis. Leon was also blessed with a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
