Maceo Mayweather

"For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." II Timothy 4:6-7 Brother Maceo Mayweather was born February 28, 1952 to the parents of Willie Mayweather and Mandy Williams Mayweather. He confessed his faith in Christ Jesus and joined Mt. Willie Baptist Church, El Dorado, Arkansas at an early age. Later in life he joined Sweet Home Baptist Church, Smackover, Arkansas then Unity Missionary Baptist Church, Lewisvillle, Arkansas. He graduated from Parkers Chapel High School and later joined the United States Army and serviced from 1972-1974 then served in the United States Army Reserve for 12 years. He united in Holy Matrimony on May 24, 1971 to Frances Modica and to this union three children were born. He retired from Amercable, due to injury, in 1986. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Mayweather and one brother, Ira Dell Lamkin. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 45 years, Frances Modica Mayweather, his son, Maceo (Rachael) Mayweather, Jr. of Houston, Texas; two daughters, LaKishia Mayweather of Louisville, Arkansas, and Mandy Mayweather of Smackover, Arkansas. 5 grandchildren Francesca Mayweather; Ashanti Loudermill; Evan Mayweather; Madison Mayweather; and Tyler Barker. His mother, Mandy Mayweather of El Dorado, Arkansas. Seven brothers, Arthur Ray (Diane) Williams of Three Creeks, Arkansas, Kenneth (Regina) Mayweather; Willie Earl (Tammy) Mayweather; John (Virtie) Mayweather, Jewel (Pamela) Mayweather; Elmer (Shandra) Mayweather; and James Anthony Mayweather. Four sisters, Marilyn Mormon, Mary Eutsey, and Corretha (Greg) Andrews. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Homegoing services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 11L00 a.m. at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church, Smackvoer, Arkansas with Rev. George Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Hicks Cemetery, Smackover, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff.
