Robertine Broadnax Ethridge

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; II Timothy 4:7 Robertine Broadnax Ethridge was born on September 16, 1937 in Union County, Arkansas the daughter of John and Gaitha Broadnax Ford. She was raised by her mother and her stepfather, Edessa Daniels. She was preceded in death by her; two brothers, Robert Broadnax and Elbert Broadnax and a Godsister, Joyce Graves She attended Booker T. Washington School, El Dorado, Arkansas. As a woman who made provisions for her family, she worked in private homes. Robertine united with Faith Hope Power Trinity Full Gospel Church of Dallas, Texas under the leadership of her son, Rev. Gregory Ethridge. Upon relocating to Dallas, Texas, she met and married Granville Ethridge and to this union three children were born. In 2012, she yearned for her roots and moved back to El Dorado. Robetine leaves to cherish her loving memories; two sons, Earnest Ethridge and his wife Sheila and Rev. Gregory Ethridge and his wife Tvelyn all of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Rosie Jackson and her husband Victor of El Dorado, Arkansas; one special daughter Gail King of Dallas, Texas; four grandsons, Ventrell, Coby, Gregory II and Jordan; seven granddaughters, Charnette, tischell, Ashley, Dessara, Amber, Zsateviqua and Jada; nine great-great grandchildren; three nieces, Debra, Donna and Deidra; five sisters-in-laws; good friends, Doris Jones, Joyce Smith and Mary Harvey; a very special friend, Roy Hudson; a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Home going services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Bishop Helen Pradia officiating. Interment will follow in the Lott Burgy Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, January 15, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Repast will follow in the First Baptist Cordell Life Center.
