A Time to Be Born... On the 19th day of September 1955, the year of our Lord, The Lord and his angels gave to John and Julia Sanders Evans, a healthy, beautiful son, Stanley Carl Evans, who was the third miracle brought to this union. A Time to be Saved... Stan joined church at an early age and was a faithful member. He accepted Christ as his person saviour during his short illness. A Time to Learn... Stan graduated from Kearney High School, Junior College and Army Ranger School.. He also had over 15 years of military training and instruction. A Time to Love... Linda Lorene Harris and Stanley Carl Evans fell in love and were united in holy matrimony on January 5, 1980. This union was blessed with one beautiful son, Stanley Carl Evans II. A Time to work... Stan joined the United States ARmy at the age of 17 and rose to rank of Sergeant First Class, retiring after 22 years of distinguished service. His tenure in the military included several world tours, 15 years of military schooling, Army Ranger, Drill Sergeant and Paratrooper, requested by President Carter for Iran Hostage Rescue Mission and honored by President Regan for his service. JROTC instructor at El Dorado High School, also worked as a postman for the city of El Dorado. A Time to Die... Preceding Stan in death were his father, John Evans, grandparents, Helen and Cleveland Sanders and Mae Francis and Sheppard Evans. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife; Linda, a loving son; Stanley II, his mother, Julia Evans, four brothers; Anthony Evans, Darryl Evans, Calvin Evans all of San Diego, California and Michael Evans of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Teresa Bell of Texarkansa, Texas, nieces and nephews; Remoan, Redawyn, ReNisha, Tiffany, Marshall, Marcus, Candice, Darchelle, Lauren, Nicole, Rachel(Mondo), DeWayne, Darryl Jr., Jessica, Christina, and Tisha; three sisters in laws, Betty(William)Carpenter, Jewell Harris and Renee Harris all of Pearl, MS, two brothers in laws, Jerry(Mary)Harris of Kansas City, Kansas and Rev. Gregory Harris of McComb, MS and a host of neices, nephew, relatives and loving friends. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. James Missionary Baptist Church, El Dorado, Arkansas with Supt. Lennie Clemmons officiating. Interment will follow in the Lott Burgy Cemetery, El Dorado, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Vistation at the funeral home will be Sunday, March 22, from 5-7 p.m. and Monday, March 23, from 8-9 a.m. The family will receive friends at 423 Lilac Drive, El Dorado, Arkansas To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Stanley Carl Evans, please visit our flower store.
