Vera L. Gibson

Vera L. Gibson was born on November 20, 1942 in El Dorado, AR the daughter of Gilbert and Mary Gathright Anderson. She departed this life on Sunday, April 12, 2015 in Oak Ridge Nursing Home, El Dorado, AR after nearly a decade of battling with Alzheimer's Disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clifford Gibson; three brothers, Willie Ed Anderson, James L. Anderson and Benny Anderson. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Morning Star Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Washington High School and a dedicated employee at Hudson Nursing Home and OakRidge Nursing Home where she remained until she retired. Vera leaves to cherish her loving memories, five sons, James Shannon Broadnax of El Dorado, AR, John Curley(Sandra)of Little Rock, AR, Walter Anderson of El Dorado, AR, Robert Semiston(Diane) and Johnny Ray Semiston all of El Dorado, AR; one daughter, Alice Jones(Carlos) of Jacksonville, AR; one sister, Bertha Marie Roberson of El Dorado, AR; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a host of nephews and nieces and a Special friend, Pearl Nute of El Dorado, AR. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, April 17, 2015 from 9:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m.and Saturday, April 18, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 1018 Wilson, El Dorado, AR with Rev. Anthony Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Lisbon Cemetery, El Dorado, AR under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff.
