James "JB" Grimes

James "J.B." Grimes was born on April 19, 1943 to the late George and Ora Sewell Grimes in Norphlet, AR.   He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Norphlet, AR.    He graduated from  Smith High School, Norphlet, AR, Class of 1961.   He served in  the U. S. Army.   He departed this life on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at McClellan VA Hospital in Little Rock, AR.   He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Angela Ford; a grandson Desmond Williams-Marrable; two granddaughters Kelsea Strozier and Chelsea Symone Wilson; two sisters and two brothers.   Survivors are four sons,Patrick Green, Marcus Marable, Rabie Marable, Eric Grimes all of El Dorado, AR; two daguhters Debra Childress of Little Rock, AR and Tenika Grimes of El Dorado, AR; two brothers, Willie Grimes of Russellville, AR and Luther Ray Grimes of Hesperia, MI; one sister Mary Jenson of El Dorado, AR; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.   Homegoing services will be held on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 2506 North College Ave.  El Dorado, AR with Rev. Felton Burgie officiating. Interment will follow in the Rehobeth Cemetery, Hwy 335, Norphlet, AR under the direction of the Sims  Mortuary Staff.
