Katie L Billings Jefferson

Sis. Katie L. Billings Jefferson was born March 12, 1930 in Union County, Arkansas, the daughter of Eddie and Mary Lou Jackson Thomas. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Starlight Church of God in Christ where she remained a faithful member until death. She served under the leadership of Elder Lewis Cook, Elder Butts, Bishop H.L. Satterwhite, Elder Arthur Foreman and the present Elder Raymond Earl Foreman. She served as a Teacher, Pastor Aide helper and will alway be remembered as a devoted prayer warrior. Her parents, four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. She departed this life on January 5, 2006, at the St. Francis Medical Center, Monroe, Louisiana. Sis. Katie leaves her precious and loving memories of 53 years to her husband, Perry Jefferson of Huttig, AR; One son, Terry Jefferson of El Dorado, AR; Three daughters; Recy James(Fred) of Camden, AR, Missionary Gayle Jefferson Ford and Carolyn Jefferson both of El Dorado, AR; One grandson, Marcus Ford of El Dorado, AR; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Homegoing Services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, January 13, 2006 at the Starlight Church of God in Christ, Strong, AR with the Elder Charles Booker officiating. Interment will follow in the Batts Chapel Cemetery, Huttig, AR under the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home, Thursday, January 12, 2006 9:30am-5:30pm and Friday, January 13, 8:30-9:30am. The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. Perry Jefferson, 1403 Olin St., Huttig, AR.
