William "Bay" Ross

William "Bay" Ross was born on November 25, 1945 to Calvin and Mealand Johnson Ross of Lisbon, Arkansas.He attended Smackover Training School and graduated May of 1964.  He served in the United states Army and recievedhis Honorable Discharge Certificate.He accepted Christ at an early age.He was united in matrimony to his high school sweetheart, Joan(Blackmon)Ross for 51 years.He was employed with General Motors for 30 years, later retired and relocated back home to Smackover, Arkansas. He was employed by Sherwin Williams for 18 1/2 years.Bay enjoyed varius outdoor activities with grilling having been his favorite activity.  He kept a smile on his face andloved to talk.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Calvin and Milton Ross.He leaves to cherish the fond memories to his loving wife, Joan of Smackover, Arkansas; four daughters, Regina Ross and Ebony Howe of Mesquite, Texas, Jacqueline(Robert)Hampton of Smackover, Arkansas and Angela Ross of Marietta, Georgia; Grandkids, Antwuan, Michael(Jamie), Deion, Courtney, Coutlandt, Quinden, Corey, Colby, Zahria, Jayden and Xzavion; and two great grandchildren, Austin and Ashton.  He also leaves his siblings W.C.(Donnie)Ross of Flint, Michigan, Earlean Dunn of Smackover, Arkansas, John(Ella)Ross of Louisiana; Vera Jones of Mt. Holly, Arkansas, Freddie(Jewel)Ross of Flint, Michigan, Pearlie Ross of Silver Springs, Maryland; Charles(Elizabeth)Ross of Smackover, Arkansas, Ben(Effie)Ross of Hayward, California, Julius(gloria)Ross of Flint, Michigan, Bessie(James)Searcy of Flint, Michigan, Eddie(Fundia)Ross of El Dorado, Arkansas and Joann Ross of Inglewood, California; He also leaves to mourn numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, April 18, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 19, from 8:30 to 12 noon.A Homegoing Service for Mr. Ross will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Smackover School Auditorium, Smackover, Arkansas with Rev. Ben Ross officiating.Interment will follow in the Hicks Cemetery, Smackover, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff.
