Ruth Ann Goodwin

For  the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.   ~Romans 6:23Ruth A. Goodwin, 61, of El Dorado, died Sunday, March 30, 2014, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House following a long battle with cancer.Ruth was born to Frank and Eserlean Townsend on August 10,1952 in Benton, Arkansas.She united with  Christ at an early age and was a long time member of Morning Star # 2 Baptist ChurchEl Dorado, AR.Ruth worked at El Dorado Paper Bag for 25 years until her health began to fail her. She was an excellent cook, who enjoyed traveling , playing cards, and spending time with her family. Ruth was preceded in death by her mother Eserlean Townsend and her sister Frankie Jean Towsend Gill. She leaves to cherish her memories  : a son  Eric Goodwin (Terrebia) of El Dorado, two daugthers Lasicia Goodwin, of Mesquite,TX , and Monica Jones (Maurice) of El Dorado. Her father Frank Towsend. Four sisters Henrietta Brown (Courtney) of Little Rock, AR, Estella Crew (Roy) Dallas,TX , Ada Green, Maxine Lewis (Ray), all of  El Dorado. Four brothers Tommy Townsend (Denise ) of Lonoke ,AR . Alfred Townsend, Albert Townsend  and Charles Townsend(Carolyn) all of El Dorado, AR; Six grandchildren Marquez, Zhamarius, Unterrio, Justin, Sanayah, and Amarian.  One great grandchild Candace.  A host of nieces, nephews and other family members.Homegoing Services for Ruth will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church #2, El Dorado, AR with Rev. Felton Burgie officiating.
