"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course. I have kept the faith" II Timothy 4:7 Sister Naomi Porchia Johnson was born on January 7, 1955 in Buena Vista, Arkansas. She departed this life on June 25, 2008 around 11:05a.m. at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, Illinois. She was the eighth child born to the Dr. Edgar Allen and Mamie J. Porchia. At an early age, Naomi united with Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Buena Vista, Arkansas. In 1968 she moved to El Dorado and united with First Baptist Church-Cordell, under the leadership of her father. She was a member of the Inspirational Choir and Sunday School Class. In 1986 she became a member of the Greater Paradise Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher and Director of Children's Church. She was a member of Ruth's Sunday School Class. Naomi attended Stephens Elementary School and Barton Junion High School. She graduated from El Dorado High in 1974. She was employed by ConAgra Food for fifteen years. In 1988 she married Arthur Lovell Johson and was faithfully married for 19 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her sister, Verdia Porchia Anderson,her maternal grandparents, Rev. James MOore and Lydia Moore,her paternal grandparents, Rev. William Porchia and Loueaster Porchia. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband, Arthur Lovell Johnson of El Dorado, Arkansas, three sons, Christopher Leon Aaron of Little Rock, Arkansas, Brandon Rodriguez Aaron of Arlington, Texas and Marcus Deshawn Aaron of Little Rock, Arkansas and one step-daughter, Swanzetta Dawn Johnson of Marvell, Arkansas; her father and mother, Dr. Edgar Allen and Mamie Moore Porchia of El Dorado, Arkansas, eight brothers, William Porchia of El Dorado, Arkansas, Edgar Porchia, Jr. (Meryl) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Russell Porchia(Dorothy) of Essexville, Michigan, Rev. Shadrach Porchia(Shirley) of Camden, Arkansas, Emanuel Porchia(Sheila) of El Dorado, Arkansas, Rev. Ronnie Porchia(Cynthia) of Enterprise, Texas, Rev. Roy Porchia(Jean) of Little Rock, Arkansas and Rev. Phillip A. Porchia(Cathy) of Clarkvilles, Texas; seven sisters, Carolyn Waller(Kenneth), Bobby Massey(Harold), Phyllis Porchia all of El Dorado, Arkansas, Jo Ann Washington(Jerome) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Vivian Manning(Ricky) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Cynthia Wallace(Marcus) of Dallas, Texas, Tonya Green(Donald) of Camden, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Kaydence Cooper, Daniel Clime and Dominique Clime, many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, one uncle, Grady Moore and a host of cousins and friends. A Homegoing Celebration for Naomi will be held at Greater Paradise Baptist Church, El Dorado, Arkansas at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Phillip A. Porchia officiating. Interment will follow in the Eternal Rest Cemetery, Camden, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. A family hour will be July 4, 2008 at the Church from 6-8 p.m.
