Minnie Lee (Williams) Montgomery

Sis. Minnie Lee (Williams) Montgomery was born on May 3, 1905 in Bernice, Louisiana, the second of fourteen children, the daugther of the late Senet and Lillie Mosley Williams. She was the oldest member of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church and a member of Sis. Lola Bullock's Sunday School Class. She remained a faithful member until death. Big Mama as she was known to her grandchildren loved to cook, fish and go the Champagnolle Landing Senior Care Center and spend time with her friends and Play Bingo. Sis. Montgomery was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Henry Montgomery, one brother, two sisters and two daughters. She leaves to cherish her memories: One son,Willie Daniel Dykes(Maureen) of Kansas City, Missouri; Two daughters, Maeodis(Montgomery)Modica and Mary Frances(Kidd) Cobb both of El Dorado, Arkansas; Five brothers, John Henry Smith(Sedonia) of Three Creeks, Arkansas, Cortez Smith, Elmer Smith, Ivory Mosley and Melvin Mosley all of El Dorado, Arkansas; One sister, Comeal Kendrix of ElDorado, Arkansas; Twenty-seven grandchildren and fifty-eight great- grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Homegoing services for Sis. Montgomery will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 1018 Wilson, El Dorado, Arkansas, with the Rev. Barry Dobson officiating. Interment will follow in the Arlington Cemetery, El Dorado, Arkansas under the direction of The Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2005 from 9:00am to 5:00 pm. The body will lie in state at the church two hours prior to funeral time.
