Alverine Kendrix

Alverine Kendrix was born on Dec. 12, 1930, in Lorann, La., the daughter of Willie Lee and Tressie L. Green White. She departed this life on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, in the John R. Williamson Hospice House, of El Dorado. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, the Rev. Allen Mack and Carvin Kendrix. She was a retired cook. She is survived by four brothers, Eddie T. White and Charles Ray White, both of Spearsville, La., Lee L. White and William Ray White, both of Strong; four sisters, Earnestine Gray, of Spearsville, Betha Loggins and Allie B. Goldsby both of Strong, and Allie Mae Lewis, of Houston, Texas. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Friday ,February 14,2014 and from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday February 15,2014 Homegoing services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday February 15,2014 at Pine Hill A.M.E. Church, R. L. Road, in Strong, with interment at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, Strong. Entrusted to the Caring and Capable Hands of: Sims Mortuary, Inc.
