A Chapter Complete,A Page Turned... A Life Well Lived , A Rest Well Earned. JoAnn Ellison Ford, the only child of Jimmy Ellison and Eursleen Culp was born August 14, 1946 in El Dorado, Arkansas. At an early age, she united with Triumphant Church located on the corner of Union and Lester Street where she actively participated in Mrs. Vernita Ellison's Sunday*s School class. She later attended First Baptist Church*Cordell; Corinth and 1st Baptist Church in Milwaukee and later professed her unyielding love for Christ as she united with Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Felton Burgie. JoAnn was a 1964 graduate of Washington High School. In 1963, JoAnn was swept off her feet by Chester Ford, the man who came to be the love of her life, soul mate and father of her only child. On June 26, 1965, she gave her hand in marriage and to this consecrated union, they were blessed with one child; Adrienne. Shortly after high school; her husband, Chester enlisted in the United States Air force and she found employment with Warner Brown Hospital until she was able to join him on Post. Upon release from the military, they moved to Cleveland, Ohio and later to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she was employed by Briggs and Stratton for more than thirty-two years. After retirement in 2006, they returned to their roots in El Dorado, Arkansas, where they were able to enjoy the fruits of their labor, until Chester was called into eternity in October 2011. JoAnn was a woman who loved family, cooking and gardening. Although family was her first priority, her garden was her passion. As a matter a fact, she cultivated relationships in the same manner as her garden, with plenty of sunshine and tender, love and care. On November 22, 2013, she transitioned to his perpetual resting place where she eternally united with her husband of forty-six years, Chester L. Ford; and her parents, Eurslean Culp and Jimmy Ellison and stepmother, Clydie Winston. Her loving memories will be forever cherished by her only child, Adrienne Ford of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two granddaughters, Brianna Ford of El Dorado, Arkansas and Najah Taylor of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; stepmother, Vernita Ellison of El Dorado, Arkansas; one sister, Nancy Stewart of El Dorado, Arkansas; one brother, Jimmie Ellison, Jr, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, two God-sisters, Bobbie (Bennie) Torrence of Stephens, Arkansas and Mattie Brown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; God-son, Crishon Gill; five nephews, Orlando Stewart, Cornelius Page, Michael Page, Mario (Melinda) Rayford and Maurice (DaVana) Butler; two nieces, Denise (Bobby) Page and Jenelle Pierce, along with a host of relatives and friends who loved and will miss her dearly.
