Rev.Walter Whatley III

The Lord is my sherpeard -Psalms 23 Rev.Walter Earl Whatley was born April 2,1951 in El Dorado,Arkansas to Earl and Reva Manning Whatley.He departed this life on June 14,2013, at the VA Hospital in Shreveport,Louisiana . He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.He enlisted into the United Stated Air Force in December 1971 until 1994.He was an ordained Elder and pastor of Rock of Ages in Church of God In Christ Waldo,Arkansas. On May 10,1993 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Thelma Johnson Whatley . He was precede in death by his parents.Two sisters Dorthy Whatley ,and Rita Whatley Mitchell. His loving memories will be cherished by his wife of twenty years Thelma Whatley .Two daughters Charisma Leach of Tennessee and Rhonda Whatley of Lawton ,Oklahoma .One son Jammie Whatley of Lawton,Oklahoma. One step-son Jeffery Atkins of El Dorado,Arkansans.Three brothers all Willie E.Whatley , Roy L.Whatley, Tommie L. Whatley all of El Dorado,Ar; nine grandchildren ,five great-grandchildren ,two step - grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends who loved him deeply. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday,June 19,2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Thursday,June 20,2013 from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Celebration of Life for Rev. Whatley will be held on Thursday, June 20,2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt.Calvary Missionary Baptist Church , El Dorado, Arkansas with the 1st Administrative Assistant Marvin Edwards Eulogist and Apostle Larry Yarbrough,M.C. Interment will follow in the Arlington Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff.
