March 28, 1913 — April 9, 2013

" I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.." II Timothy 4:7 Brother Auguster Hunter was born on March 28, 1913 to Gus and Lettie Hunter in Summerfield, Louisiana. Brother Hunter served his counrty in the United States Army. He was a man that wasn't afraid of work; he was employed by Cooper Industrial Products until retirement. He will always be remembered by his coworkers as a happy friendly guy that had a smile for everyone. Brother Hunter accepted Christ at an early age at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Summerfield, Louisiana. He later united with the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, El Dorado, Arkansas where he served as a deacon until his health failed. Even though his health did not allow him to attend church, he loved his church family. His love and memories will be carried on by the love he showed to many. On April 9, 2013 an angel of silence came into the room and sealed the lips of Brother Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters Irene, Audrey, Luerene, Agnes, Alean and Ruby; two brothers, John Albert and John T.; one son Odell Stewart and one stepson, Bryant Williams, Jr. He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his lovely wife of 20 beautiful years Ada Mae Hunter, two sons Gregory Auguster Hunter and Joel Stewart.; one daughter Adell Delphin(George) all of El Dorado, Arkansas; five step- daughters, Lois Mosley, Marie Creer, Queen Perry(Jerome), Frankie Williams,and Annette Sturgis(Terry), two step-sons; Dorris Williams(Brenda) of Oakland, California and David Williams(Valerie) of Green Bay, Wisconsin; three sisters, Robbie Thompson of San Francisco, California, Georgia Brown of Oakland, California and Maud Smith of Summerfield, Louisiana; one brother Bobby Re Hunter(Minnie) of Stockton, California. A vast number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces,nephews,other relatives and friends. A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Hunter will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Felton Burgie officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Summerfield, Louisiana under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 13, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Auguster Hunter, please visit our flower store.
