Tom Perkins, Jr.

Bro. Tom Perkins, Jr. was born on July 9, 1935 in Lake Village, Arkansas, the son of Tom and Mary Elizabeth Hollings Perkins, Sr. His journey in this life ended on September 9, 2005 in his home in West Crossett, Arkansas. In 1954, he was employed by Crossett Saw Mill, which later became Georgia Pacific Corp., there he worked until retirement in January 1999. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Perkins and Willie Perkins; One sister, Willie Mae McNutt and one granddaughter, Tanettra Perkins-Neither (his little angel). He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 51 years, Juanita Goree Perkins of Crossett, Arkansas; Two sons, Donnie Perkins of Monticello, Arkansas, Billy Perkins of Richardson, Texas; Two daughters, Mildred Bivens of Buford, Georgia and Sandra Gill of Wilmer, Texas. One sister, Annie B. Perkins-Scott of Crossett, Arkansas; One brother, Johnny Ray Perkins of Hooks, Texas; Three grandchildren, Nekilea Bivens of Lake Jackson, Texas, Donald Bivens of Buford, Georgia and Oranda Latrell Gill of Wilmer, Texas; Two great-grandchildren, Angel Mingo and Christian Bivens both from Buford, Georgia. A host of neices and nephews and a host of friends. Homegoing Services for Bro. Perkins will be on Friday, September 16, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Westside Church of Christ, Crossett, Arkansas and burial will follow under the direction of Sims Mortuary Staff in the Westview Cemetery. Visitation at the Funeral Home will be Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 10:00am-5:30pm. No visitation on Friday. Visitation at the church 12 noon until funeral time. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Juanita Perkins, 307 South Penn Road, Crossett, Arkansas.
