Revelation 21:2 Sister Ada-Cooper Brown was born September 3, 1915 in Clayton, Louisiana, the daughter of Robert and Armenthia-Robertson Cooper, Sr. Sister Ada Brown departed this life Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 4:45 p.m. at Baptist Health Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Sis. Ada accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at age 11. In 1926 she united with the New Light Baptist Church in Sicily Island, Louisiana under the leadership of Reverend T.S. Salisbury. She continued her Christian journey in the state of Louisiana, in the year of 1944, she moved to Leesville, Louisiana and united with the St. Paul Baptist Church where Reverend J.O. Simmon was pastor. Upon moving to El Dorado, Arkansas, she united with First Baptist Church-Cordell. She was an active member of Circle Veronica, Sunday School Class and NBC. She was a faithful member and attended church regularly. Ada received her education from Sicily Island School System. She retired from El Dorado School District as a Cook. Ada met, loved and married Romalice Brown on June 22, 1973. Ada was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Armenthia Robertson Cooper, Sr.; husband, Romalice Brown; two sisters, Jessie Cooper and Beatrice Cooper Simmons; and one brother, Robert Cooper, Sr. Sis. Ada-Cooper Brown, leaves to cherish her memories; her loving and devoted daughter, Lula Carthan(John), El Dorado, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Gregory Allen Carthan, Sr.(Doreen)Willowbrook, Illinois, Fredrick Cortez Carthan(Lauren), Hickory Hills, Illinois, Alicia Marie McClelland(Charles), El Dorado, Arkansas and Nancy Selina Myers(Larry), Irving, Texas; eleven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; A special daughter, Claudia English,nieces, nephew and other relatives and friends. A Homegoing Celebrating for Sis. Ada will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 8,2012 at First Baptist Church-Cordell where Reverend Pierce L. Moore will be officiating. Visitation will be Thrusday, June 7th from 9a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, June 8the from 8:30a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Sims Mortuary. Family Hour will be held at First Baptist Church-Cordell, Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 6-7p.m. The family will be at 506 Oak Manor Circle.
