"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.." Psalms 23 Carrie Kendrix Buggs was born on February 27, 1924 in Urbana, Arkansas the daughter of Ed and Emma Henry Kendrix. Carrie departed this life on Monday, March 26, 2012 at her residence. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Columbus "Luke" Buggs; two children, Doris Ann Rodgers "Sister" and Pecola Seaton Cain; two grandchildren, Orlando and Eric Huey; five brothers, C. W. Kendrix, Robert Kendrix, Jimmy "Rabbit" Kendrix, Earnest Kendrix and Eddie V. Kendrix; four sisters, Arnice Lee, Daisy Watson, Rosie Wallace and Nellie Ewing. Carrie attended Garner School in Strong, Arkansas. She worked many years as a maid for J.S. Brooks, she also worked as a Sitter and was a RSVP volunteer. Carrie joined church at an early age at Mt. Zion Urbana. She moved to El Dorado in the 50's..the protesting stage. She later united with Longview Baptist Church and spent her golden years as a faithful member of New Eastside Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. LeeVell Faison. She was a dedicated Usher for over 54 years. Carrie leaves to cherish her loving memories, her son Rance(Mae) Olison of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Margaret(Kevin) Ross of El Dorado, Arkansas and Josephine Wyrick of El Dorado, Arkansas; two sisters, Ora Lee Benton of El Dorado, Arkansas and Betty Rawls of Pontiac, Michigan; Grandchildren Renee Seaton, Felicia Harris, James Terry Rodgers, Demetric Holmes, Rance Olison, Jr., Kareem Thomas, Jamilya Dartion, Allison VanHook, Ellis VanHook and Joseph Morris; 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchidren; a loving and plentiful host of nieces, nephews, cousins and truly unremarkable friends. A Homegoing Celebration for Sis. Carrie Kendrix Buggs will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Urbana, Arkansas with Rev. Willie T. Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Urbana, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, March 30, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 31, from 8:30 to 9:30a.m.
