Dorothy Jean Ridgell

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.." Psalms 23 Our beloved sister, Dorothy Jean Ridgell, ascended to heaven on February 16, 2012. Born November 26, 1965, Dorothy was 46 yeas old when she passed away at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Ezekiel and Dorothy Ridgell. She leaves behind to mourn her loss three brothers, Albert Ridgell of Little Rock, Arkansas, Ezekiel Ridgell, Jr. and Curtis Ridgell of El Dorado, Arkansas, four sisters, Betty Frazier, Dossie Frazier and Carolyn Pfieffer of El Dorado, Arkansas and Doris Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who all loved her dearly. Dorothy touched the lives of many people. She has left an indelible mark on all of our hearts and a vacancy that can never be filled. Dorothy was an incredible lady. She was giving, kind and always had a ready smile for anyone who was blessed to be in her company. We will always remember her for her quick wit and funny jokes that kept us laughing until we hurt. Just like our mother, she loved to cook and willingly fed anyone who was hungry. Although her journey here was short, her legacy will live on forever. She filled a special place for each of us-sister,aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Surely she has a crown in heaven. To our dear sweet Dorothy-May the clouds of heaven be your pillow, may you know the peace of God for all eternity; may the saints of God keep you company until we meet again in glory. Your light shone brightly here, our wonderful sister...may your star shine in Heaven also. We Love You! A Homegoing Celebration for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Watch Baptist Church, Shoute Division, El Dorado, Arkansas with Rev. D. R. Dredd offciating. Interment will follow in the Zion Watch Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff.
