"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart..." Proverbs 3 Mildred was the first of three children born to the union of Beulah Duncan and Harmon H. Hill Sr. on April 9, 1923 in El Dorado, Arkansas. Mildred strongly believed in education and had a strong desire to learn. She started her early educationin the El Dorado School District graduating from Washington High and continued her education recieving a Bachelor and Master's Degrees from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. She went on the continue her education and recieved a PHD. Mildred was full of life and thoroughly enjoyed people. She was a lover of fine arts and enjoyed traveling abroad. She lived a single life and worked as a counselor at the Metorpolitan Hospital in New York City until her retirement. Mildred was born into the Methodist religion and started her Christian journey at an early age. While residing in El Dorado, she was a member of Lee Chapel A.M.E. During her residency in New York, she continued to serve the Lord through her affiliation with numerous churches. She departed this life on November 8, 2011 at the Kateri Residence in New York, New York. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Harmon L. Hill, Jr. , niece, Gwyneth Hill, great-niece, Marsha Wilson and great-great niece, Shadae Wilson. She leaves to morn and cherish her loving memories, one brother, Alfred(Gracie)Hill of Manvel, Texas, sister-in-law, Gracie Hill of Los Angeles, California, three nieces, Phylis(steve)Tung of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Lauretta Hill of Lancaster, California and Thejuana(William)Wilson of San Diego, California, three nephews, Mario Hill and Michael Hill of Los Angeles, California, Lamont(Joyce) Hill of Manvel, Texas and other great and great-great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. A Homegoing Celebration for Mildred will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Sims Mortuary Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Free Union Cemetery, El Dorado, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday,November 21, 2011 from 10:00 a.m.to 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday, November 22, from 9:00a.m. till funeral time.
