"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want..Psalms 23 Mrs. Rosie Lee George was born on July 15, 1918 in Union County, Arkansas to the parentage of Gertha Neal and Wade Barnes. At a young age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized while attending Mount Rena Baptist Church in Karo, Arkansas. In 1949, she united with First Baptist Church-Cordell where she was a choir member, a Sunday School Teacher, N.B.C. instructor, a member of the Usher Board, Circle Ester and worked with Meals on Wheels. She remained a faithful and dedicated member until called into eternity on Sunday, December 19, 2010. Mrs. Rosie Lee was blessed with a giving and generous spirit. She was dependable and always available to assist others; not only in the church family but the community as well. She served as a volunteer for the United Way Salvation Army and Senior Citizens Center. She had a special love for cats and dogs. Her passion was reading the Word of God, gardening and fishing, She did not mind traveling especially when it was time to visit her daughter and the grandchildren in Milwaukee, Miami and New Jersey. She was employed by Warner Brown Hospital and South Arkansas Medical Center as an x-ray technician and subsequently retired after many years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gerogia Mae Thompson and Francis Davis, one granddaugther, Maryland Johnson and one nephew, Tommy Lee Armstrong. Rosie leaves in God's care to cherish her beautiful memories; one daughter, Mattie D. Baldwin of El Dorado, Arkansas, three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren;special friends; Mrs. Pinkie Phew and Mrs. Ada Brown along with a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. A Homegoing Celebration for Rosie will be on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church-Cordell, El Dorado, Arkansas with Rev. Pierce Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Lott Burgy Cemetery, El Dorado, Arkasas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff.
