"The Lord is My Shepherd, I shall not want...Psalms 23 Sister Viola Manning was born on June 11, 1910 the daughter of Hamp and Carrie Loyd Blackmon in Calion, Arkansas. She departed this life at Timberlane Rehabilation Center on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in El Dorado, Arkansas. Sister Manning united with the Morning Star Missionary Baptist church at an early age. She remained faithful until her health failed. Sister Viola Manning was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her daughter. Her loving memories will be cherished by two grandsons,James Mitchell of Texarkana, Texas and Willie Shaw of El Dorado, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. A Homegoing Celebration for Sister Manning will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 12 noon at the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, El Dorado, Arkansas with the Rev. Felton Burgie officiating. Interment will follow in the Arlington Memorial Gardens, El Dorado, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff. Visitation at the funeral home will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2010 from 10:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday, December 21 from 8:30 to 9:0a.m. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Viola Manning, please visit our flower store.
